While it is not hard to find Italian food in Penang but this restaurant in the heart of Georgetown is something that you should try. Amico Dining & Social House opened its doors in late April 2021 and can be found occupying a prominent corner lot at Nagore Road. The exterior decor barely tells what the restaurant is offering. While it is place suitable for wine lovers (they carry a wide range of labels), the Italian-inspired menu is definitely worth-trying. The selection ranges from appetizers to main course and desserts … with reasonable prices. We were satisfied and happy on what we had the other day- the quality has been quite promising and we are looking forward to another revisit.
Flat Bread (Rm 16)
Charred Chicken Breast with Truffle Risotto (Rm 33)
Linguine With Clams (Rm 28)
Something lighter than Pizza- the Flat Bread was something similar but the base was thinner and has less Cheese. The texture less doughy as compared to Pizza but definitely more refreshing … a perfect sharing dish to get the meal started. Charred Chicken Breast with Truffle Risotto was our favorite of the evening- the Charred Chicken Breast was nicely done with soft-tender texture but the real draw was the Truffle Risotto which packed a powerful earthy flavor. The Risotto was expertly cooked with al-dente texture … creamy but not overly so; the earthiness was good enough to cut through the greasiness. Linguine Alle Vongole was good too but it was a misnomer, we were expecting Linguine but instead, Spaghetti was served. Apart from that, everything was well- seasoning was spot on, Spaghetti was al-dente and the spiciness was just right.
